EASLEY — What’s the best way to find Neverland? Normally it’s the second star to the right and straight on until morning, but for the next two weekends, it is as easy as buying a ticket.

Easley’s Foothills Playhouse’s production of Peter Pan, written by J. M. Barrie and adapted for the stage by director Owen Robertson, opens Jan. 29. It will run two consecutive weekends, closing with a matinee Feb. 7.

That makes finding Neverland so much easier, and about as much fun.

The story of a boy who refused to grow up, Peter Pan is an integral fabric of our culture and has been pleasing children and adults alike in print, on the big screen, and on the stage for decades.

Peter, chasing his shadow, finds Wendy and her brothers and leads them on adventures all must have fantasized of while growing up, or never growing up if you took the lesson away, opening up a world only a vivid imagination could dream of.

Captain Hook, Mr. Smee, Wendy, John, Michael, the lost boys, and of course the lovable household pet, Nana, open up a world for patrons where anything is possible as long as your imagination is strong enough.

Pirates, Indians, fairies, kids, laughter, excitement and adventure are all part of the production, lending an air of the impossible to a production which has captivated hearts since the story first appeared in print. Including a cast of talent locally grown, this is an opportunity for families and kids at heart to enjoy a night at the theatre.

Tickets are available from the Foothills Playhouse at 864-855-1817 or through the box office at www.fhplayhouse.com. Friday shows, Jan. 29 and Feb. 5, and Saturday evening shows, Jan. 30 and Feb. 6, will begin at 7:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday matinees will begin at 3 p.m.

Foothills Playhouse is located at 201 South 5th St. in Easley.
