PICKENS COUNTY — At times the holidays can be rushed and unforgiving as we run from pillar to post in preparation for traditions both new and old.

During those times it is difficult to find the time to wish those around us thoughts of happiness and prosperity, but some prominent members of the Pickens County community took a moment to do just that for their fellow residents.

Cindy Hopkins, Director, Greater Easley Chamber of Commerce

“As a representative of our local business owners I of course want to wish them a happy and prosperous holiday season as we head into the new year. From the Chamber’s prospective, our local business owners are a key component of our community and their prosperity affects us all. Personally, I hope everyone has the blessings and joy they deserve and have the opportunity to spend time with their families and enjoy the holidays and Christmas season.”

Rep. Davey Hiott

“If I could I would like to take the opportunity to wish each and every one of us blessings beyond our imaginations. I would like to see everyone have the chance to sit back and reflect on the blessings we all have with our family and friends this holiday season and have the hope it leads to a prosperous New Year for us all.”

Stephen Steese, Administrator, City of Easley

“I am new to the community, and during my short time here I have found that Easley is a great community and a special place because of its people. I am hopeful that you have a safe holiday season in the community and your home. My wish is that everyone has a meal to share with friends and family, and that you can find what your family desires here in Easley. Merry Christmas.”

Sen. Larry Martin

“As I have gotten closer to Christmas, I know from personal experience the loss of parents and loved ones can be a sad time. I would like to wish everyone a blessed and happy time and for those whose loved ones are missing this holiday season, for whatever reason, the opportunity to cherish the memories of their loved ones. As my own children begin to make their way home for the holidays, it’s a joyous time to be with family, and I wish that same blessing to everyone, and the ability to not take these times for granted.”

Rep. Neal Collins

“My wish is that we all focus on Christ’s teachings in our daily walk — love, compassion, forgiveness, repentance, prayer, and performing good deeds being among those. Merry Christmas to all!”

And from the family of The Easley Progress and The Pickens Sentinel, we wish you all a safe, happy and memorable holiday season and unmatched bounty in the New Year.
