For the first time in anyone’s memory and possibly the first time in county history, the state delegation, sheriff, county council and school board met together to communicate as a group. The meeting was hosted this past Monday in Easley. The meetings will rotate around the county based on population so that city and town councils also will have an opportunity to participate.

The purpose of #PickensUnited is for the four core entities to meet on a routine basis to communicate, which has not been practice in the past. The vision is that #PickensUnited will continue to meet on 5th Mondays and the communication will encourage collaboration and unity for a better county concerning our various state, county, and municipal needs.

#PickensUnited will meet again on at noon on Monday, October 31 at Clemson City Hall. It is open to the public.

With potentially 14 of the 17 “core” participants being elected within the past four years and 14 of the 17 participating in the first meeting, the future of a united front is bright for Pickens County. These participants did not have to attend.

Please join me in thanking them for their servant actions for the betterment of our county.
