LIBERTY — The Liberty Lions Club held their second annual Diabetes Walk & Wellness Fair on March 18, raising $4,457 for the American Diabetes Association.

This beat the club’s goal of $3,000 by 49 percent.

Co-chairs Lions Lisa Carpenter and Tracy Morgan, their committee and club members appreciate the City of Liberty allowing use of the City Gym, the sponsors who provided health information and goodies and others providing fun activities at this event.

The City of Liberty first responders made sure the walking route was safe, and Liberty Lions members passed out bottled water and encouragement to the event walkers.

AnMed Health Cannon Hospital won the trophy for the business collecting the most money for ADA, and Elizabeth Stokes of Baptist Easley Hospital won the trophy for the largest individual donation.
