PICKENS COUNTY — A woman remained in the Pickens County Detention Center on Monday after being charged late last week with stabbing her husband to death.

Samantha Pardew-Lingwai, 28, was charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. Bond had not been set Monday afternoon.

According to the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to 212 Pickens Drive following a report of a domestic altercation between a man and a woman, later identified as Pardew-Lingwai.

When deputies arrived on the scene, they found Matthew Mickelboro, 33, of the same address, unconscious but still alive in the front yard of a nearby home with a visible wound to his chest that appeared to be a puncture wound.

The investigation showed that Mickelboro had been stabbed by Pardew-Lingwai, his wife, inside their home. Mickelboro had called his mother and attempted to leave the home on foot but collapsed in a neighbor’s yard. Pardew-Lingwai was arrested at the scene.

Mickelboro was taken to the hospital but later died. Coroner Kandy C. Kelley said he died from a stab wound to the chest.

Detectives recovered a knife believed to the murder weapon at the scene and further investigation revealed that the incident occurred in the presence of the couple’s three children ages 4, 7 and 8.

The Department of Social Services is handling the supervision and safety of the children.
