EASLEY — Despite taking an early lead in the first, the Easley Green Wave lost Friday’s away match-up against Westside with a final score of 46-7 in favor of the Rams.

Things seemed to be going well for Easley. The Rams (7-1, 2-0) offense initially had trouble getting the ball moving and remained scoreless through much of the first. Easley took one to the house midway through and claimed a 7-0 lead with almost six minutes left in the first.

It would be Easley’s (3-5, 0-2) only score of the night.

Nearly four minutes later, Westside answered back with a touchdown followed by a successful two-point conversion and the teams went into the second with the Rams up by one.

Westside pushed another one in from inside the five near the start of the second followed by another rushing score just a short time afterwards. A pass across the middle connected with Westside’s Jyston Kendrick at almost the two minute mark for another score.

With a 1:30 left in the half and Easley driving, the Rams snagged an interception and ran it back for the last score of the half and Westside up by 29.

A safety in the third followed by a kickoff return further expanded upon the Rams’ lead early in the third to 46-7, which would hang on to remain the final.

Easley has a bye week this week but will return to the gridiron on Oct. 21 to host Woodmont (3-5, 1-1).
