PICKENS — Pickens County business owner Michael Craig Alexander was arrested this morning by investigators with the S.C. Department of Revenue for one count of Operating Without a Retail License.

Alexander’s retail license was revoked by the SCDOR in March 2016 for unpaid business taxes totaling more than $9,000.

Alexander, the owner and operator of Easley Glass and Mirror LLC, was advised by the SCDOR to close as it is illegal to make retail sales without a valid retail license, but he continued to operate the business and make sales.

Alexander is being held at the Pickens County Detention Center pending a bond hearing. If convicted, Alexander faces up to $200 in fines and/or up to 30 days in jail.
