ANDERSON — The Anderson County Library System will host its second annual Electric City ComiCon, a free afternoon event for all ages from 10 to 5 p.m. Aug. 6 at the Main Library, 300 N. McDuffie St.

The event will celebrate “Literacy Through the Fantastic,” with events including Q&A sessions with authors, artists, and cosplayers, gaming demos, and Cosplay and Fan Art contests.

Submissions of original Fan Art are being taken until July 31 in four age categories: children up to age 9; tweens, ages 10-13; teens, ages 14-17; and adults, age 18 and older. First, second, and third place winners and one honorable mention will be chosen in each age group.

Winners will be announced and prizes awarded at the end of the ComiCon and winners must be present to win. The winning artwork will be displayed at the Main Library and on the library system’s social media platforms.

Artwork, which must be accompanied with an entry form, can be dropped off at the Main Library, any branch library, or the Mobile Library.

For more information about contest rules, pick up a flyer and entry form at any library location or visit the library’s website, www.andersonlibrary.org.
