PICKENS COUNTY — Behavioral Health Services of Pickens County recently issued its yearly student related awards for outstanding students in Pickens County.

Two scholarships, both in the amount of $2,000, were also awarded. The Danny Sharp Scholarship and the Charlie Hagood Scholarship were awarded to Nathan Tucker Holiday.

Ernie Dandeneau, chairman of the board for BHS, was on hand to make the announcements and hand out the awards. The following awards were handed out:

• Eager to Help Award: Dillion Peterman

• Friend to All Award: Dilani Rajapakse

• Insightful Award: Skylar Grant

• Intelligent Award: Elizabeth Lyda

• Leader Award: Maddy Butler

• Most Cooperative Award: Ashley Clark

• Most Courageous Award: Julia Dandeneau

• Most Creative Award: Gracie Clark

• Most Supportive Award: Mac Kerswell

• Most Upbeat Award: D’Azia Mills

• Open Minded Award: Mackenzye Patterson

• Self-Motivated Award: Ivy Johnson

• Talent Award: Britton Blackwell

• Team Player Award: Juan Burgess

The mission of Behavioral Health Services of Pickens County is to provide effective and efficient prevention, intervention and treatment services to the citizens of Pickens county for the purpose of reducing negative impact of alcohol and other drug use, addressing behavioral issues, and promoting healthy lifestyle.
