PICKENS – The two men who escaped from the Pickens County Stockade earlier this week have been apprehended and are back in jail, each facing a charge of escape.

At approximately 5:30 a.m. Friday, the Sheriff’s Office received reports of a suspicious male walking near a residence on Golden Creek Road in Liberty.

Moments later, Jeffrey Shane Mauldin was located on Golden Creek Road and after a brief foot chase with deputies into a wooded area near Palmer Drive, Mauldin was arrested without incident.

Mauldin was transported to the Pickens County Detention Center where he is currently being held.

Pickens County deputies assigned to the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force located Dustin Ryan Floyd around 8:40 p.m. Wednesday and took him into custody at 103 Daniel Ave. in Greenville County. He also was arrested without incident.

“I’m extremely proud of our personnel here at the Sheriff’s Office for their intensity and efforts given around the clock over the past couple of days,” Sheriff Rick Clark said. “The Deputies knew that our citizens were uncomfortable and concerned over the idea of having escapees in the area and the Deputies were committed to locating and capturing the inmates as soon as possible for the community’s safety. Thank you to the great people in this county for their support and for the assistance that they have given us through leads and information throughout this investigation.”
