COLUMBIA — Charles Abbitt Bond of Easley was arrested Tuesday by S.C. Department of Revenue investigators on four counts of forgery.

During tax years 2010, 2012, 2013 and 2014, Bond altered figures on multiple employer W-2s that either generated a South Carolina refund or increased his South Carolina refund each year.

By forging the W-2s in 2010, 2012, 2013 and 2014, Bond requested $871, $2,193, $5,848, and $10,072, respectively, more than he was entitled to.

Bond, 35, is currently being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center in Columbia, pending a bond hearing. If convicted, he faces up to five years in prison and/or fines in the discretion of the court, per count.
